Galois Theory III (MATH3041)
General Information
In each term, there will be 4 problems sheets to test your understanding of the material in parallel with the lectures and notes. Some of these problems will be used in the fortnightly Problems Classes, other problems will be set in 4 written Assignments over each term, to be submitted via Gradescope. Solutions will be provided at a suitable point later. Questions marked with a \((\star)\) may be quite difficult or require a clever idea.
There is also a set of problems on the Background material from Algebra II. The solutions for these are available from the start, but do make a proper attempt at problems before reading the solutions. To keep ahead of the lecture material, have a look at
the “Rings and polynomials” problems before lecture 4,
the “Group theory” problems before lecture 14.
