The workshop will be held at Newcastle University, 6 June – 10 June 2016.
The talks will be given in Lecture Theatre 1 on the ground floor of the Herschel Building (no. 17 on the campus map, close to the Haymarket). The workshop will cover a wide range of research directions in the general areas of geometric group theory and simplicial and polyhedral complexes. Of interest are geometric, topological and spectral aspects. The aim of the workshop is to bring researchers with different research backgrounds together and to provide ample opportunities to discuss recent developments as well as challenging open questions. The venue should also be inspirational for young researchers entering into this field. Speakers include:
PhD students and researchers at all stages of their career are welcome to participate. The Workshop is funded by the EPSRC Grant "Topology, Geometry and Laplacians of Simplicial Complexes", the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Durham, and the School of Mathematics&Statistics, Newcastle. |
