The steps required to produce the influence diagram Figure 6
are shown in Figure 5 as follows.
- Note that any options and controls established earlier in
Figure 2 or Figure 3 remain in force.
- FOR: commands are used to establish the bases
(collections) .
- The GCLEAR: command is used to clear the graphics screen
of the influence diagram previously drawn.
- We want to draw an entirely new influence diagram, with different
node coordinates and so forth. Thus we use the XGRID: command
to delete currently existing node coordinate information before
designing the new diagram. The $ symbol is a wildcard, representing
all nodes.
- The GRID0: command is used as described previously to
design the influence diagram.
- Several ARC: commands are used to connect nodes on the
influence diagram. The arcs between the batch nodes and the nodes
representing the individual quantities A,B,C,D are to be unlabelled
directed.
The arcs between the batch nodes and the node G
representing the collection of individual quantities are to be unlabelled
directed and display path correlations.
- Finally, the ADJUST: command is used several times. Each
node A,B,C,D,G is adjusted initially by , and then
partially by , , and in turn.
