I joined the University in October 1992 as a Lecturer in Mathematics. From August 2010 until August 2025 I was Deputy Executive Dean (Natural Sciences) in the Faculty of Science. I have since returned to the Department of Mathematical Sciences. You can fine me most days in MCS3004 which is on the top floor of the Maths and Computer Science building.

Research
My research interests are in the Numerical Analysis of Partial
Differential Equations. In particular
The quality of, expertise of and committment to my teaching (and my
colleagues) was recognised in the academic year 2004/5 when I was the
recipient of a University Excellence in Teaching Award.
