Recommended textbook: the
material is covered in Boas, `Mathematical Methods in the
Physical Sciences', Wiley (1983) ISBN 0-471-04409-1, but you may find Salas,
Hille and Etgen, `One and several variables calculus', Wiley (2003) ISBN
0-471-23120-7 quite
helpful too, with plenty of exercises to practise the concepts. Other
books are listed in the 2H Course booklet.
Lectures:
Monday @ 4.15 pm (Room CG93, Chemistry Building) and Wednesday @ 9 am
(Room PH8, Physics Building)
First lecture on Monday13 October @ 4.15 pm
Work will be set every other Wednesday
at the beginning of the lecture. Hand in your work at the end of the
lecture on the subsequent Wednesday.Work set.Assessment Criteria.
