Spaces of stability conditions

Abstract:

The space of stability conditions on a derived category was introduced as a way of making Mike Douglas's ideas on pi stability for D-branes mathematically precise. I'll explain the definition and then focus on two examples : one involving the total space of the canonical bundle of the projective plane, the other (due to Richard Thomas) related to the unfolding space of a simple surface singularity.
